BABOR Product Launch

Glow Cream in a Hotel Bathroom

Written by: Mathis Maass

One model. One luxurious bathroom. Maximum Output. That was the brief from BABOR, who tapped us to create a set of high-quality social media assets for the launch of their updated version of their Skin Moisture Glow Cream, Toner, and Serum. A microbiome-focused collection designed to restore balance, hydration, and, well, glow.

We shoot the campaign in Düsseldorf, turning a hotel suite into a clean, content-ready beauty studio.

We shoot the campaign in Düsseldorf, turning a hotel suite into a clean, content-ready beauty studio.

The hotel we shot in also doubled as our accommodation. A budget move, but also practical. The bathroom in the suite was surprisingly perfect: large, bright, minimal, and just luxurious enough to feel elevated without stealing attention from the product.

We started early, real early. The goal was to deliver four distinct social formats:

-A crisp “explainer-style” demo

-A slower-paced, aesthetic-led visual piece

-A close-up ASMR-style product texture reel

-And a dynamic routine-style vertical video

We shot everything on Sony mirrorless cameras, perfect for clean, sharp beauty content. Not ARRI. Because this is Instagram, not Dune 2.

The real challenge came in post with color grading.

With new product tones introduced as part of the relaunch, accuracy was everything. The serum’s green had to be that green. The cream’s shimmer had to show, but not overpower. It took some finesse, but we got there.

We wrapped with more than we planned, always a good sign. We delivered all four reels plus full raw footage, giving BABOR a bank of extra content to repurpose over time.

Skincare looks easy. It’s not. Not when the lighting has to reflect off the packaging just right. Not when tone matters more than texture. But in the end, we built visuals that match the product promise: clean, glowing, and quietly confident.
